Getting to Where There’s Air to Spare
REDD designed a new 1000 ft-long plant air header for a refinery preparing for extensive compressor upgrades.
Plant Air Header Project
After REDD had studied a local refinery’s plant air system, finding the compressors and main header were undersized, the refinery contracted REDD to design a new, larger header to accommodate increased capacity.
The new air header included over 1000 ft of pipe running much of the length of the refinery. The header was designed with a dozen tie points for existing and future piping.
With the installation of the new header, the client was able to meet air needs with temporary compressors, and the plant air system was prepared for major compressor upgrades soon to follow.
