Jet Fuel Storage Tank Repairs

Bringing New Life To Military Assets
The Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota operates a 22,000-barrel jet fuel storage tank constructed in the 1950s. Following an API 653 inspection, the tank required significant storage tank repair and modifications before it could be safely returned to service. REDD was selected as the general contractor to oversee the storage tank repair in full compliance with API standards and military specifications.
Our team managed all subcontractors involved, including Barclay Mechanical for welding repairs, Petrochem for sandblasting and coatings, and a specialty firm for replacing the internal floating roof seals. REDD maintained an on-site presence throughout the project to resolve issues quickly and uphold our rigorous safety standards.
The storage tank repair project was completed under budget and within a tight schedule. Its success led to a strong, ongoing partnership with a major government prime contractor, resulting in multiple follow-up projects completed with the same level of quality and reliability.
