Optimized Natural Gas Pipeline Design Enhances Mountain West Mining Operations.

REDD provided our Mountain West mining client with engineering and design support for routing and supporting a new natural gas pipeline for new surface equipment.

Our client planned to run a natural gas pipeline from their existing natural gas boiler equipment to a new location over 1000 feet across their facility. The goal was to make use of a variety of different existing pipe racks to support this new line, but the planned routing of the line and the support capabilities of the existing pipe racks needed to be investigated.

REDD’s structural engineering, design, and scan team was able to take a 3D Point Cloud scan of the site to measure and analyze all the existing pipe rack and confirm pipe locations that would be safe and well supported. We then used that point cloud model to route the pipe and produce a construction drawing package, exceeding our client’s initial expectations for the project.
