Mastering Reliable Pipeline Stress Analysis: 3 Keys to Durable Design in Confined Spaces

Pipeline Stress Analysis Supports Hot Catalyst Withdraw Line Design

In 2018, REDD performed a pipeline stress analysis for a client in Wyoming to determine the best route, materials, and support structure for a new pipeline. The goal was to minimize stress and ensure long-term durability under challenging conditions.

This project proved uniquely challenging due to limited space between existing equipment. REDD had to creatively design a layout that would work within the tight constraints while maintaining optimal function. Additionally, the team drew on deep expertise in metallurgy to ensure the selected materials could handle the high temperatures and necessary bends.

Using strategic curves and careful planning, REDD created a design that navigated the space efficiently and minimized stress on the pipeline. The project demonstrated REDD’s flexibility, innovation, and commitment to client satisfaction.
