PSM Implementation

Questar Gas Management (QGM), a daughter company of Questar Gas, needed to implement OSHA 1910.119, Process Safety Management (PSM), at their governed facilities in Utah and Wyoming. REDD was hired to help develop & implement the program.

Shortly after implementation at the governed facilities QGM found that proper execution of PSM can increase efficiency and safety and truly pay back, they decided to adopt some of the principles and framework of PSM for the non-governed facilities.

Not long after implementing PSM, QGM requested REDD provide engineers at each major processing plant to assist with MOC’s and closing PHA recommendations.

REDD was also tasked with providing PSM training to operations and management.

As proper implementation of PSM identified process improvements, REDD was there to design and manage construction of new compressor stations. This  allowed REDD to transition to the role of consulting engineer and QGM to own the PSM system going forward.
